You Can't Cover My Color
By Maia Hadaway
Out with the old, in with the new
Walls filled with color
With mixtures far more complex than red yellow and blue
Will now turn blank
The white comes in
Unapologetically invades the space
Claiming it as it's own
To cover the color
To tame it
To show uniform, order
But no matter how many layers of white are applied
The color beneath will always find a way to seep through
